Using your own nameservers (ns1.yourbrand.com) Print

  • 0

Reseller Hosting lets your customers see your brand in their domain settings instead of ours. By default your accounts use alpha.eltahost.com and omega.eltahost.com; you can switch to your own names at any time, and back again.

  1. Create the child nameservers. At the registrar of your brand domain (for example yourbrand.com), create two child nameservers (also called glue records, host records or private nameservers):
    • ns1.yourbrand.com → 185.179.30.43
    • ns2.yourbrand.com → 85.217.171.151
If your brand domain is registered with EltaHost, open Domains → yourbrand.com → Private Nameservers in the client area and add them there. If your brand domain's DNS is hosted with us, we also create the matching DNS records for you in the next step.
  2. Switch your accounts. Open your Reseller Hosting service in the client area. Under White-label nameservers, enter ns1.yourbrand.com and ns2.yourbrand.com and click Save my nameservers. We check that both names point to our servers, set them in WHM for new accounts and update the DNS of all your existing accounts.
  3. Tell your customers to set ns1.yourbrand.com and ns2.yourbrand.com as nameservers at their domain registrar.

New glue records can take a few hours to be visible worldwide. If saving says a name "does not point to our servers yet", wait a little and try again.

To go back to our nameservers, click Use EltaHost nameservers again on the same page.
