Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy protects our customers, our network and the reputation of our servers. It applies to every EltaHost service and is part of our Terms of Service.

1. Email and anti-spam rules

These rules apply to all email you send through our servers, including Email Hosting and Email Marketing:

• Only send marketing email to people who agreed to receive it from you (for example by subscribing on your website or as your customers who opted in).
• Never use purchased, rented, shared or scraped email lists.
• Every marketing email must contain a working unsubscribe link, and unsubscribe requests must be honoured.
• Do not hide or fake the sender, use misleading subjects, or send phishing or fraudulent messages.
• Keep your lists clean: remove addresses that bounce or never engage. Campaigns with high bounce rates or spam complaints (above about 0.3% complaints) will be paused.

2. Prohibited content and activities

• Anything illegal under the laws of Kosovo or of the country your audience is in.
• Malware, viruses, phishing pages, scam or fraud websites.
• Content that infringes copyright or trademarks (for example pirated software, films or music).
• Child sexual abuse material, content promoting terrorism or violence, or hate speech.
• Hacking, port scanning, brute-force attacks or attacks against other systems.
• Open proxies, open mail relays, botnets and IRC bots.
• Cryptocurrency mining on shared hosting.

3. Fair use of shared resources

Shared hosting and email servers are used by many customers. Do not use more CPU, memory, disk activity or email volume than your plan allows, or run long background processes. "Unlimited" features are subject to normal use for a website of that plan. If an account affects other customers, we may limit it and will contact you to discuss an upgrade.

4. Software licenses

Licenses may only be used on the server IP address they are issued for and under the vendor's license terms. Sharing, reselling (unless you bought a reseller product) or bypassing license checks is not allowed.

5. Enforcement

If we find or are notified of a violation, we may remove the content, limit or suspend the service, and in serious or repeated cases terminate it without refund. Where possible we contact you first, but we act immediately when other customers, our network or the public are at risk. Report abuse to abuse@eltahost.com.
